Our little piece of the “Wild West” where respect and responsibility are a way of life. The three original cabins and the root cellar were the only visible remains of a homestead established back in the late 1890’s. Refurbishing began in 2002.

I had the pleasure of staying at 3 Step Hideaway on my recently completed 30 day, 7,000 mile trip (MABDR N to S to TAT E to W. Scott and Julie were the perfect hosts in the perfect stopping spot. One of the most unique places I've ever stayed! Icing on the cake is that Scott has a shop that can handle any maintenance/repair - large of small. Highly recommended!

Had a 6 day stay at the 3 Step in April 2021. It wasn’t long enough. Scott and Julie are great hosts! Just turning off our electronics and talking to each other was a pleasant change. Scott provided tracks with difficulties and current status. On hot days you can go high elevation routes and cold days you can drop down in elevation. Food was great, sitting on the porch and looking at the star filled night sky was a plus. We solved all the worlds problems sitting around the campfire! Can’t wait for the next trip!

Just finished a week long trip to 3 Step Hideaway and had an amazing time. Scott and Julie are some of the nicest and accommodating hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The meals were excellent and Scott helped us with everything from off road routes to bike maintenance / repair and everything in between. Highly recommended if you are in the Moab area!!

3 Step Hideaway is perfect for me. If you want to get away from life’s hustle and bustle this is the place to go. Julie and Scott made our stay enjoyable. They are down to earth. friendly, and welcoming. Great breakfast and suppers prepared by them. Quiet, no internet, relax and enjoy. We have stayed in 2 of their cabins. Clean, a requirement of mine, and comfortable. My husband and brother went motorcycle riding in the area. Scott recommended rides. They had a great time. I will be back!

Scott and Julie are absolutely phenomenal hosts, words cannot do them justice. Accommodations have a genuine rustic aesthetic with modern furnishings and are very clean. There's really no reason to go anywhere else, the scenery in all directions is amazing, the home-cooked food is excellent, the pace of life here away from cell service is perfect.

Scott and Julie have made a fantastic off-grid resort that would make anyone comfortable. It is absolutely soul resetting to spend time there. The food is fantastic as are the accommodations. Great trail riding in any direction. I can't wait to visit again.

We were there for their First Annual 3 Step Desert Rendezvous. What a fantastic place to stay and ride dual sport motorcycles out of. Scott furnished many tracks from easy to intermediate to expert, we rode intermediate and had a blast. Hot showers were great and Julie is a outstanding cook, food was excellent! This is a FIVE STAR dual sport motorcycle heaven, we will be back.

This is really a hidden gem that deserves to be less hidden! It's completely off the grid in a remote valley of eastern Utah and perfect for a getaway. Although it is particularly attractive for motorcycling, I would go back for hiking, mountain biking, and photography. There is so much to explore! Scott and Julie are incredible hosts and we had a blast during our visit!
